Choose Complianz if your site runs on WordPress or Shopify and you want the banner, the wizard-written documents and the consent records handled from your own site admin, or if you look after several client sites under one licence. Choose iubenda if you prefer a separate dashboard configured site by site, if you need consent collected inside an iOS or Android app, or if you want terms and data-processing register tools from the same vendor. Both products belong to team.blue, and Complianz's own post says it joined the iubenda Group.
Complianz starts from a setup wizard: you say which regions the site serves and what it loads from outside, and the banner and legal texts follow from those answers, with periodic rescans afterwards. Of the two, only it lists Global Privacy Control handling and A/B testing of banner variants, and the vendor lists a free WordPress plugin with no page-view cap. The limits reviewers raise are Consent Mode and TCF errors, and disputes over licence terms and auto-renewal.
iubenda's pitch is breadth from one configuration. The same setup drives the banner, the privacy and cookie policy and the consent log, with a register of processing activities and a subject-request tool alongside. Only it lists multi-language banners, consent-rate analytics and a mobile SDK. Its reviewers, mostly writing before 2023, called per-site pricing costly across many sites and questioned the scanner's accuracy, and customers reviewing the company found the interface confusing.
Reviewers of the Complianz company as a whole, from April 2024 to August 2026, split on support. Some describe fast help, some even for non-paying users, while others report unanswered tickets on premium licences, and some fault licence terms, renewals and refunds. iubenda's reviewers split on support too. Consumer reviews of the vendor (2024 to 2026) and product reviewers (mostly 2018 to 2023, so older experience) praise quick help, while a smaller group of each report unresponsive support. Easy setup is a theme among product reviewers, as is praise for policy generation saving legal effort. Customers reviewing the company also raise cancellation, billing and refund problems.
Take a small studio that launches a WordPress site for a client and later ships an iOS app for the same client. This is a scenario, not a customer story. Either product offers a web banner with auto-blocking and Google Consent Mode, but only iubenda lists an app SDK, so the studio would confirm Complianz's app coverage before assuming it. With no app, the WordPress admin route fits Complianz.
Both offer a free plan, so start there. Neither vendor documents a migration path between them, so ask either before planning a switch.
