Microsoft 365 is Microsoft's cloud office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and OneDrive, with Copilot AI and 1 TB of storage per person.

Microsoft 365 is one subscription behind the documents, spreadsheets, decks, mail and meetings a household or a workforce produces every day, with the apps installed and the files synced under one sign-in. It answers the daily problem of writing, calculating, presenting and mailing in file formats that colleagues, clients and auditors all expect to open without conversion. Microsoft Corporation builds and sells it directly, and one subscription covers PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, and the browser. The productivity apps install on a PC or a Mac and also run in a browser window. Word handles documents, Excel spreadsheets and analysis, PowerPoint decks, Outlook mail and calendar, and OneNote notebooks, with Microsoft Access on PC. Files saved to OneDrive sync across devices, and co-authoring shows each person's edits in a shared document as they are typed. Microsoft Teams carries chat, group calls and all-day video calling, Microsoft Forms collects survey and quiz responses, and Microsoft Defender watches identity, data and devices on the consumer plans. Copilot works inside the apps, drafting in Word, updating tables in Excel, restructuring a deck in PowerPoint and adjusting tone in Outlook. Microsoft 365 suits households that want the desktop apps on several machines, and organizations that run staff accounts, mail and files on Microsoft's own platform. It fits teams whose documents travel to people outside the company, because the formats are the ones most recipients already read. Administrators manage users, domains and policies from the Microsoft 365 admin center, and compliance staff search and retain mail and files through Microsoft Purview. Households pay per person and organizations per user, and anyone with a Microsoft account can use the browser-only edition at no cost. The suite carries the work that keeps an organization running from one week to the next: drafting contracts and reports, keeping budgets and forecasts, building a deck for a board meeting, running mail and shared calendars, and storing everything that produces. Work files live in OneDrive and in SharePoint sites, where an eDiscovery search can reach them for a legal request. A custom domain turns those accounts into business mailboxes under the company's own name. Buyers usually weigh Microsoft 365 against Google Workspace, and the decision rests on whether their staff, clients and auditors already exchange files in Office formats.
