LiveRamp is a data collaboration and identity platform for brands, agencies and publishers, with clean rooms and audience activation, sold by annual commitment.
LiveRamp links the customer records a company already holds to the people, devices and media partners those records describe, so the data can drive targeting and measurement without third-party cookies. LiveRamp Holdings, Inc., a public company headquartered in San Francisco, is the owner and seller. Underneath sits RampID, a people-based identifier that translates other identifiers as they move between platforms, TV included. Customer files enter through Simple Onboard, which accepts PII-based records and matches them to online devices. Client-side tags log site activity, such as page views, and tie it to RampIDs. Segment Creator then builds derived audiences from rule groups, and segments can be added to a distribution automatically for destinations such as TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Amazon and LinkedIn. Delivery stats report how many records and devices reached each one. Clean Room lets two parties analyse their combined data without either side exposing its underlying records. Data Marketplace serves buyers who append third-party demographic and psychographic attributes, and sellers who license their own segments to others. The platform is built for brands holding millions of customer records that reach consumers through several media channels, and for the agencies that run those campaigns. Publishers and other data owners use it to work with advertisers and to earn revenue from their audiences. Accounts run on an annual commitment of tokens that the products draw down, and the tier follows the number of customer records and media destinations. Larger commitments bring lower consumption rates and closer support, and every account starts with a quote from the sales team rather than a self-serve signup. A typical cycle begins with a CRM or loyalty file onboarded and matched, moves to segments sent to social, streaming and retail media partners, and closes with measurement against a publisher's data inside Clean Room. Many of these teams keep their customer data in a cloud warehouse, and LiveRamp counts Snowflake, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud among its platform partners. For a data owner, the same network turns first-party audiences into a revenue stream sold to buyers through Data Marketplace.
