Heap is product analytics software for product and growth teams: autocapture logs every click and pageview, and every paid tier is quoted by sales.

Heap is product analytics software for teams who need to know what people actually do inside a website or an app. It collects every click and pageview automatically, so a question can be answered about behavior nobody thought to tag in advance. Contentsquare completed its acquisition of Heap on 7 December 2023, and Heap now runs as the product analytics line of the Contentsquare platform while keeping its own site, its own login and its own help center. The autocaptured dataset is the core, and the charts sit on top of it. Funnel analysis reports conversion and drop-off between steps, Retention analysis shows who comes back, and Journeys draws the paths users take before and after any event. Segments turn recorded behavior into reusable cohorts, and account analytics rolls the same data up by company for B2B products. Sense, Contentsquare's AI assistant, answers questions about a chart and summarizes what happened in a session. Session Replay, Heatmaps and Error Analysis extend the picture from numbers to the recorded screen, and Heap Connect moves the event data into a warehouse. Heap suits product managers, growth teams and analysts at software companies that ship often and instrument lightly. B2B teams get the most from the account level view; consumer and ecommerce teams tend to pair the charts with replay. Engineers install one snippet and then stay out of the way, which is the argument for autocapture. Data teams that already run a warehouse can add Heap Connect and model the exported events downstream. It is bought by monthly session volume rather than by seat, so the tier a team lands on follows its traffic rather than its headcount. Most Heap work starts with a question about a release or a funnel: where a signup flow loses people, whether a new feature holds attention, which accounts stopped opening a report. Teams answer it in the charts, then open the sessions behind the drop-off to see the interface that caused it. Events flow out to Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift and Amazon S3, and across to tools such as HubSpot, Shopify and Appcues, so one set of definitions carries into CRM reporting and in-app messaging. Alongside the rest of Contentsquare, Heap covers the product analytics half of a stack whose other half is web experience analytics.
