Contentsquare is the experience analytics company that absorbed Hotjar: heatmaps, session replay, surveys and error analysis, from a free plan to enterprise.

Contentsquare is an analytics company founded in Paris in 2012 by Jonathan Cherki and now run from New York and Paris. It sells what it calls experience intelligence: tools that show how people actually use a website or app and where they struggle. The company grew by acquisition. Hotjar, the heatmap and session recording tool that small teams knew by name, was folded in and its plans are now sold under the Contentsquare name, with hotjar.com redirecting to contentsquare.com. Heap, a product analytics company, became the Product Analytics line. The result is one platform with self-serve pricing at the bottom and enterprise contracts at the top: the self-serve plans cover Experience Analytics, with heatmaps, replays, funnels and journeys, and Voice of Customer, with surveys and feedback, while the mobile app SDK and Product Analytics are quoted by sales. Contentsquare's customers range from a single marketer on the free plan looking at a heatmap to enterprise digital teams buying error monitoring, data feeds and SLAs. Self-serve prices are published at every volume band, and the former Hotjar features and the wider platform each have a help center of their own.
