Brandwatch is a social listening and consumer intelligence platform for enterprise brand, research and comms teams. Cision has owned it since 2021.
Brandwatch is a social listening and consumer intelligence platform that collects public conversation from social networks, blogs, forums, news sites and review sites and turns it into research a team can act on. It is built for organisations whose decisions depend on knowing what people say about their brand, their category and their competitors. Cision acquired Brandwatch on 1 June 2021, and the product carries on under its own name, on its own site. Consumer Research is the core. Queries are written in the Boolean query editor or drafted by the Iris AI query writer, and matching mentions arrive classified by sentiment, topic, author demographics and location. Signals watch a dataset and email the team when volume moves unexpectedly, and Email Alerts do the same for new mentions that cross a threshold. Image Analysis reads logos, objects and scenes in pictures that carry no text mention. Ask Iris answers questions about a dataset in plain language and returns charts and written summaries. Around that core, Influence handles influencer campaigns and their reporting, Social Media Management handles the content calendar, the cross-channel inbox, approval workflows and competitor benchmarking, and the APIs move data in and out. Brandwatch suits enterprise insights and brand teams, consumer and market research groups, communications teams responsible for reputation, and agencies running listening programmes for several clients at once. It fits organisations that work across regions and languages, and Cision customers who want social conversation beside their media monitoring. It is bought by solution rather than by seat, and the plans page offers standard to enterprise plans for each solution with a demo request rather than a published rate card. Day to day, teams use Brandwatch to size a category before a launch, to profile the audience behind a conversation, to watch a campaign as it runs, and to catch a negative story while it is still small. Analysts export mentions or stream them into a warehouse through the APIs, and bring their own survey or CRM records in through the Data Upload API to sit beside social data. Social teams connect their Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and YouTube accounts to the inbox and calendar, so publishing, listening and reporting share one login alongside the rest of Cision's media intelligence.
