WHMCS
by WebPros • • Subscription Management & Billing Software
WHMCS is billing and client management software for web hosts and domain resellers, owned by WebPros and priced by active client count.
WHMCS takes a web host's orders, invoices, payments and server accounts and runs them as one automated cycle. The order form, the invoice, the payment gateway and the server account are joined, so an order provisions itself and renews on schedule instead of passing through a person each month. The product is part of the WebPros family, alongside cPanel and Plesk, and trades as WHMCS Limited. It runs as Self Hosted software on a server you control, or as Cloud. Products carry configuration options, so a customer picks from predetermined options and adds upgrades and addons at the order form, with promotions for percentage or monetary discounts and trial products that start charging once the set billing cycles pass. Automation settings generate renewal invoices, send payment reminders before and after the due date, and add late fees to overdue accounts. Payments run through gateway modules, with an invoice convertible into another enabled currency and tax rules gathered at the point of sale. Usage billing charges variable priced items from recorded data, quotes convert into invoices, and credit and debit notes adjust invoices that are already issued. WHMCS suits hosting companies, resellers and agencies that sell recurring services and have outgrown a spreadsheet and a payment link. It fits teams already running cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin who want provisioning and billing in the same place, and administrators who would rather keep customer and payment data on their own server. It is bought as one product on a monthly tier set by the number of active clients, with the support level changing at the top tier. The admin area is where a WHMCS operator spends the working day: watching income on the dashboard, reviewing the invoice list, configuring registrar and server modules, and rebilling one-off costs as billable items. iOS and Android apps, sold as a paid add-on, cover the same jobs away from a desk. MarketConnect sells SSL certificates and other services from inside the system, and the software sits beside Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.net, DigiCert and KashFlow, with registrar and provisioning modules connecting it to the servers that carry the customer accounts.
