Shortcut
by Shortcut • • Bug & Issue Tracking Software
Shortcut is an issue tracker and project management tool for software teams, built around Stories, Epics, Iterations and a Roadmap, and sold per user.
Shortcut keeps engineering and product work in one shared record, from a single bug report to the next quarter's plans. Shortcut Software Company in New York makes it, and the product carried the name Clubhouse before it became Shortcut. Stories carry the everyday work, with Custom Fields for structured details and story relationships that show what is blocked or blocking. The Backlog can be dragged into a manual order, and Kanban boards show where each Story sits in its workflow. Spaces save filtered views the whole team can open, and search operators narrow Stories by type, state, owner or date. Iterations hold sprint plans, while the Roadmap lays Epics out on a timeline. Reports chart burndown and velocity, Automations take over repetitive steps, and SLA Alerts set how quickly a team commits to responding to or resolving work. Shortcut is built for companies that make software, from a small team getting started to a fast-growing engineering organization with several squads. Product managers plan in the Roadmap, Docs and Objectives, while engineers work from boards and Iterations. Agencies and larger companies can keep separate Workspaces for sandboxing, sensitive information or individual clients. Buyers pay per user and choose a tier by how much reporting, automation and administration the team needs. Most of the work starts and ends in code. Engineers attach commits, branches and pull requests from GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket to their Stories, and workflow states can move automatically as that code progresses. In Slack, a message becomes a new Story and shared Story links unfurl with their details, so a thread turns into tracked work. Teams that build their own tooling read and write Stories through the REST API and send changes onward with outgoing webhooks. At the close of each Iteration, the burndown and velocity charts show a team what shipped and whether its pace is holding.
