Google Workspace is Google's cloud office suite: business email, calendar, file storage, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, video meetings and team chat on one subscription. It replaces the separate mail server, file share and office licence a company would otherwise run and maintain itself. Google LLC makes it and sells it from workspace.google.com, where its terms name the company. Everything runs in the browser and in Google's mobile apps, so nothing has to be installed on a desktop. Gmail gives every user a mailbox on the company's own domain, with Calendar and Contacts beside it. Drive holds files in pooled storage, and shared drives keep team files in place when a member leaves. Docs, Sheets and Slides open Word and Excel files and let several people edit at once, with version history, comments, assigned tasks and suggesting mode. Docs also works offline and sends eSignature requests without leaving the document. Meet runs video meetings with screen sharing, and Chat organizes conversations into spaces with threads, huddles and Workspace Studio flows built without code. Forms collects responses into Sheets, Vids creates video, and Gemini drafts, summarizes and answers across Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Meet and Chat. The Admin console manages users, devices and endpoint policies from one place, with Vault for eDiscovery and data regions on the Enterprise edition. Google Workspace suits small businesses that want email on their own domain without running a mail server, and growing companies that are standardizing on browser-based tools. Distributed teams use it because every file, meeting and conversation sits in one account reached from any device. IT administrators who need central user, device and retention controls find them in the Admin console rather than in add-on products. It is bought per user per month on an annual commitment, with one login across every app. The four editions run from Business Starter through Business Standard and Business Plus to Enterprise. A proposal is drafted in Docs with teammates commenting, and the numbers are reviewed in Sheets. The deck is presented over Meet and the follow-up goes out from Gmail. Sales and service teams publish appointment booking pages from Calendar, and contracts leave Docs for signature. Chat sits beside Asana, Jira, GitHub, HubSpot, Datadog, PagerDuty and Lucidchart through its app directory, so updates from those systems post into spaces. Companies moving from another suite bring mail and files across with the Google Workspace Migrate tool. Files can still be shared with people outside the organization, with expiry dates on links, while the domain's data stays under the Admin console's policies.
