Evernote is a note-taking and task app with AI search and meeting notes, owned by Bending Spoons. The free plan covers 50 notes on one device.
Evernote is a note-taking app for people who collect more than they can remember. Web pages, photographs of documents, meeting recordings and to-do lists go into one account that syncs between phone, desktop and browser. It is owned by Bending Spoons, the Milan company that also runs Vimeo, WeTransfer and Meetup. Notes sit in notebooks and spaces, and everything in them, including the text inside attached PDFs and images, is searchable from one box. Capture starts with Web Clipper, a browser extension that saves an article, a page or a selection straight into a notebook. Tasks live inside notes, with due dates, recurring reminders and assignment to other people. Home gathers recent notes, tasks and upcoming events on one screen, and connecting a Google or Microsoft calendar links a note to the meeting it belongs to. The AI features add Semantic Search across an account, an AI Assistant that answers questions from the notes it finds, AI Transcribe for recorded audio and AI Meeting Notes that turn a call into a summary with action items. Search itself takes Boolean, geographic and filtered queries, and reaches the text in PDFs, Office documents and scans. Evernote suits people whose work produces links and paper faster than structure: consultants, researchers, students and anyone running a personal system across several devices. Small teams use shared spaces, comments and real-time editing to keep client and project notes together, with a central admin console for seats. Larger organizations add single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, company ownership of business data and a named customer success manager. It is bought per person on the individual plans and per seat for teams, with one account and one login either way. Evernote hooks into the tools already on a team's desk: Gmail, Google Drive and Google Calendar, Outlook and Slack, and it exposes an MCP connection so assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT can work with notes. The jobs it gets hired for are writing up a client meeting from its recording, keeping a research file of clipped sources, standardizing recurring notes with templates, annotating a contract PDF and exporting a finished project to PDF, Word or HTML for a handover. The same Evernote account carries all of it across iOS, Android, Windows, Mac and the web, offline included.
