Adobe Firefly turns prompts into images, video and speech for design and marketing teams, with Content Credentials attached to the output.

Adobe Firefly is a generative AI application for making pictures, video and spoken audio from written prompts. The product is Adobe's, sold under the Firefly name, and everything it produces carries Content Credentials, the metadata that records an asset as AI generated. That last part answers a question that now arrives with every generated image, which is where it came from and who made it. Firefly is where Adobe puts AI models in front of people who produce creative work for a living. Generate Image starts from a written description and returns pictures to choose between. Generative Match takes the look of an image that already exists and carries it into new ones, so a new set can hold the same treatment as work already approved. Expand Image pushes a frame outward past its original edges, and Upscale Image raises the resolution of a file that came in too small. A photograph can be the starting point instead of a prompt, and the result comes back as artwork. Generate Video and Image to Video cover moving output, and Generate Speech produces spoken audio. The closest fit is designers and art directors already working inside Adobe's applications, where the file formats and the vocabulary are familiar. Brand and marketing teams take it up where output has to pass a review, because Generative Match holds a house look across a set and Content Credentials answer the provenance question before a legal team asks it. Freelancers and small studios reach for it when a client wants several concepts by the next morning and a stock library does not have the shot. Use begins on a no-charge daily allowance, and paid use draws on generative credits that renew each month. Most of what comes out of it is campaign visuals, social posts, key art and the quick variants a pitch deck needs. A photograph goes in and comes back as an illustration. A square crop becomes a wide banner because the frame was pushed past its original edges, and an image that arrived too small is enlarged before it is placed. Moving output comes from the same place, either a still image set in motion or a clip generated from a written description.
