Which you should choose turns on what a conversion actually is. Choose AppsFlyer when the events worth crediting are app installs, in-app purchases or paid campaigns across mobile, web, connected TV and console. Choose Ruler Analytics when what matters is a call, a form submission or a live chat that only becomes revenue once a deal closes in a CRM, often weeks later. AppsFlyer also offers a free entry tier for apps with no paid campaigns; Ruler Analytics prices by site visits, with no free plan.
AppsFlyer pulls ad spend in from Google, Meta and TikTok so ROI360 can report return on it, and pushes touchpoint and revenue data to a warehouse like BigQuery hourly, work that, of the two, only AppsFlyer lists. Reviewers call the interface easy to read, credit Protect360 with catching fraud, and say partner integrations are quick to set up. Other reviewers call fraud protection and data export costly add-ons, the dashboard hard to learn, and exports capped at a few months, and support itself splits opinion in the same reviews, quick for some and sluggish for others.
Ruler Analytics turns the same idea toward a B2B sales process instead of an app funnel. Call tracking and form and live chat tracking capture where an enquiry came from, and CRM revenue matching joins a closed-won deal to the touchpoints ahead of it. Offline conversion sync feeds that revenue back to the ad platforms bidding on it. None of that is listed for AppsFlyer, nor are data-driven and multi-touch models, marketing mix modelling, or first-party tracking once cookies are blocked. Every tier bundles phone, email and live chat support, but there is no free tier or trial, and cost scales with site visits, not seats.
Coverage of the two is far from equal. AppsFlyer's review record spans five-plus years, weighted toward a mid-2024 wave, and a handful from that period doubt report accuracy or flag a day's data lag. Ruler Analytics has far fewer reviews to go on. Two older reviews liked the call and lead tracking and called support helpful; a single 2025 review called setup hard and objected to a 12-month contract with no way to cancel early. Both complaints rest on that one review, not a pattern.
Visa's launch of its Pay App in the Democratic Republic of Congo is one of AppsFlyer's published customer stories. The global payments company used the platform for full-funnel attribution and ad spend import. Shubham Gaur, a Performance Director at Assembly, the agency that ran it, credited the shift to full-funnel measurement with a 155 percent rise in installs and an 85 percent cut in cost per acquisition. Ruler Analytics publishes a similar story about Barcan+Kirby, a Bristol law firm with a smaller marketing budget, using call tracking and offline conversion tracking. Its Senior Digital Marketing Executive, Siobhan Fagan, called Ruler her go-to tool for showing stakeholders return on investment.
