Intuit is the company behind TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma and Mailchimp, selling tax, accounting and marketing software to consumers and small businesses.

Intuit is a financial software company whose products cover tax filing, accounting, credit and marketing for two quite different audiences. TurboTax and Credit Karma sit on the consumer side, handling tax returns, credit scores and borrowing decisions. QuickBooks, Mailchimp and Intuit Enterprise Suite sit on the business side, which Intuit describes as running "lead to cash" for small and mid-market companies. A third line, Lacerte Tax, ProConnect Tax and ProSeries Tax, sells to the accountants and tax professionals who file on behalf of those clients. Intuit Enterprise Suite is the mid-market end of that business line, a cloud ERP and accounting product sold from erp.intuit.com and kept distinct from QuickBooks Online and Desktop. Small businesses that keep their own books use QuickBooks Online, the browser-based accounting service Intuit sells in four plans from quickbooks.intuit.com. Scott Cook and Tom Proulx started Intuit in 1983; it went public in 1993 and trades on Nasdaq as INTU. Its own fact sheet reports about 18,200 employees and 21 offices in seven countries, run from a headquarters in Mountain View, California. The stated mission is "powering prosperity around the world", and the company frames its business software as a single platform that takes a small business from finding a customer to getting paid. Mailchimp joined Intuit on 1 November 2021, when the company announced the acquisition had completed, and Mailchimp's terms of use name Intuit Inc. as its parent entity. The business still trades as The Rocket Science Group LLC and keeps its own site, pricing page, support and brand.
