SourceHut is open source code hosting with Git and Mercurial repos, CI builds, email patch review and ticket trackers, run at sr.ht or on your own servers.

SourceHut lets a software project run its whole development process over open standards, with patches sent by email, discussion on mailing lists and chat over IRC. It is built and operated by SourceHut, an independent company registered in the Netherlands. Every service is free and open source software. The hosted platform at sr.ht is in public alpha, and pages carry no tracking or advertising and need no JavaScript. git.sr.ht hosts public, private and unlisted Git repositories, and hg.sr.ht gives Mercurial the same first-class support. builds.sr.ht runs fully virtualised builds on Linux distributions and BSDs from a .build.yml manifest. A developer can submit ad-hoc jobs without pushing and log in over SSH after a failed build. lists.sr.ht keeps threaded, searchable mail archives and adds web tools for reviewing patches. The ticket trackers hold actionable tickets, accept reports by email and can stay private for security issues. chat.sr.ht, man.sr.ht wikis, srht.site static hosting and paste.sr.ht round out the suite, tied together by hub.sr.ht. SourceHut suits open source maintainers and developers who already review code by email and want tools that follow that model. Projects that need CI on BSD systems as well as Linux fit it, as do people who work without JavaScript or prefer a terminal. Organisations that must keep code on their own hardware can install their own instance and move data between it and sr.ht. One account opens every service, and outside contributors can send patches and file tickets without registering. Work usually starts with a push to git.sr.ht, which triggers a build whose results go out by email or webhook. Contributors mail patches to a project list with git send-email, and maintainers review them in the archive. A commit trailer such as "Closes" with a ticket link resolves the bug when the commit is pushed. The hut command-line tool scripts the same steps through the GraphQL API and exports a whole account with one command. Project chat runs on any IRC client connected through the chat.sr.ht bouncer, so review, history and bug reports stay reachable from a mail client or a terminal.
