Slite gives a team one place to write the docs it runs on, from runbooks and specs to handbooks and playbooks, and works to stop them going stale. Its AI answers questions from those docs, and the Slite Agent compares pages with the work happening in Slack, Linear and GitHub. Slite, Inc., a company that has worked fully remote since 2017, builds and sells it. Writing happens in a real-time collaborative editor with comments, mentions, tables, code blocks, embeds and Markdown shortcuts. The AI Assistant works inside the editor to polish a draft or summarise a long doc, and custom templates give recurring docs a fixed shape. Ask answers plain-language questions from the workspace, while the Slite Agent extends that search to connected tools. Doc verification marks pages as trusted, and the Knowledge Management Panel handles upkeep across many docs at once. Document history restores earlier versions, bulk import brings existing files in, and docs export to PDF, Markdown or HTML. Slite suits teams whose operating knowledge lives in written procedures rather than in people's heads. IT operations teams keep SOPs and runbooks in it, while product and engineering teams keep specs and release notes. Support teams maintain help content, HR teams hold handbooks and policies, and sales teams keep playbooks and battlecards. Larger organisations can add reader-only seats, user groups, SCIM provisioning, audit logs and OpenID single sign-on. The agent earns its place after a change ships. When activity in GitHub, Linear or Slack shows that a runbook or spec no longer matches, it flags the doc and drafts the correction. A reviewer approves that draft from one triage view, and the doc carries its verification stamp again. Selected docs can also go public, on a custom domain where a team wants one, and the public API and MCP access let other systems read and update the workspace. That review loop keeps an HR policy or an IT runbook matching how the team actually works today.
