It is made by Odoo S.A. of Grand Rosiere, Belgium, which sells it as one product in a Community edition and an Enterprise edition. Every app installs into the same system, so a company can begin with one function and add the next without a migration. The suite exists to replace the spread of separate tools, spreadsheets and connectors that a growing business otherwise collects. The Accounting app keeps the general ledger, produces the balance sheet and profit and loss statement, and lets a user drill from any total down to the journal items behind it; fixed assets carry their own register with a depreciation board. Sales and CRM take a lead from first contact to a confirmed order, and the Inventory app records the stock movements and valuation that follow. Manufacturing adds bills of materials, work orders and a master production schedule, while the Employees, Time Off and Payroll apps run the workforce, with payroll relying on a country localization package.
