MGID is a native advertising platform: advertisers buy prepaid, pay-per-click placements on content sites, and publishers earn from its recommendation widgets.
MGID turns the space under and inside online articles into ad inventory, showing paid stories that read like editorial recommendations. Advertisers reach readers on content websites without banner slots, and the sites hosting the units earn from each click. MGID Inc. opened its first office in New York in 2008 and now runs the network from Santa Monica, California. Each side has its own account: advertisers sign up to buy traffic, publishers sign up to place widgets. Advertisers build campaigns in the MGID Ads dashboard, where the AI text generator drafts titles and descriptions from a content URL or a written prompt. The AI image generator produces creatives, ads run as static images or motion ads, and a CSV template uploads them in bulk. The MGID Pixel, Google Tag Manager templates and server-to-server postbacks feed conversions back into reporting, and CPA Tune bids toward them, with Target CPA as one of its strategies. Sources Optimization lists the sources a campaign ran on, the CPC Multiplier raises or lowers the bid per source, and the Sources Blocklist removes a source from one campaign or the whole account. Publishers choose under-article, in-article, smart, header and sidebar widgets, plus a video player that connects through VAST. MGID suits performance marketers, affiliate teams and media buyers who judge traffic by cost per conversion and prune sources by hand. Advertisers start without a sales contract: they open an account, pass a KYC or KYB check and prepay a balance by card, with automatic top-ups available. Each click is billed at a CPC the advertiser sets, since MGID offers no pay-per-action model. Interest and demographic segments come from third-party data providers and carry their own data fees. Content publishers with steady article traffic add widgets to earn from MGID's own advertiser demand. Campaign work usually begins with fresh creatives drafted in the dashboard and ends with a source report that decides which widgets get a higher multiplier and which go on the blocklist. Affiliate teams connect trackers such as Voluum, Binom or ClickMagick and receive conversions back by postback, so bids follow real sales. Brand campaigns add IAS tags to measure viewability on each creative. Agencies with their own dashboards pull statistics by site and by source through the advertiser API. Retargeting audiences built from the MGID Pixel bring past visitors back as they read other articles across the publisher network.
