LogicMonitor
by LogicMonitor • • Infrastructure Monitoring Tools
LogicMonitor is a hybrid observability platform for IT operations teams, monitoring on-premises devices and AWS, Azure and Google Cloud resources in one place.
LogicMonitor collects performance data from equipment in a company's own rooms and from its cloud accounts, then turns that data into alerts and dashboards for the people who keep those systems running. LogicMonitor, Inc. develops it, and the platform is also called LogicMonitor Envision. Edwin AI, the company's AI layer, adds event intelligence, AI agents and automation on top of the monitoring data. A Collector installed on a server in each location polls the devices around it, and NetScans finds new resources on the network without manual registration. Cloud accounts connect through the AWS, Azure and Google Cloud monitoring APIs, and new instances appear through Active Discovery. LogicModules define what gets collected, from OpenMetrics DataSources that poll Prometheus-format endpoints to a Docker module for container resource use. Dynamic thresholds learn each datapoint's recent history and raise alerts on anomalies instead of fixed limits. ConfigSources fetch device configuration files over SSH and flag changes, while Logs Inspector sits beside the metrics. The platform suits IT operations and infrastructure teams in organisations that still run their own hardware alongside cloud workloads. Network engineers get device-level polling, and cloud teams get API-based monitoring without an agent on every instance. Service owners can build their own views, since dashboards are assembled from widgets, filtered by resource property and reused across groups with dashboard tokens. It comes as one platform in three packages, LM Essentials, LM Advanced and LM Signature Plus Edwin AI, with the larger packages adding service insights, automated remediation and Edwin AI. When a metric drifts, Slack, Microsoft Teams or PagerDuty carry the alert to whoever is on call, inside a tool they already use. Resource records can flow into a ServiceNow CMDB, so the asset register follows what the Collectors discover. Teams standardising on OpenTelemetry send metrics to the platform and set alert rules on them, and scripts push their own numbers through the Push Metrics REST API. Its steady job is watching a mixed estate of data centre racks, office networks and cloud services, and raising an alert when a device's configuration changes.
