Linguix finds grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes and offers clearer wording inside the apps where people already write, so a message gets its proofreading pass before it goes out. Textly Inc., which trades as Linguix, owns and develops it. The app began in 2018 as a Chrome extension and grew into an editor, a paraphrasing tool and a team product. Its checks follow the writer from one website to the next. The grammar checker flags errors, weak word choices and unclear sentences as text is typed. The Paraphraser returns a list of alternative versions when a sentence is highlighted and Rewrite is clicked. Writers who want advanced paraphrasing, tone suggestions and unlimited shortcuts move to Linguix Pro, a per-user subscription paid monthly or at a lower rate annually. Linguix Business is aimed at support, sales and marketing teams that answer customers in writing, and it is priced per member under one admin. Organisations with HIPAA or GDPR requirements can arrange an on-premise installation. Most of the work happens in the browser, where Linguix for Chrome, Firefox and Edge checks text in Gmail, Canva and other web apps. Longer documents get the same treatment in Google Docs and in Microsoft Word on Windows and Mac. A support agent might type a shortcut to insert a standard answer, rephrase one line to sound warmer and send it with every product name spelled the way the style guide sets out. For the team lead, weekly or monthly counts of documents, words and alerts show how much the team writes and where its copy still trips the rules.
