Klips is Klipfolio's dashboard and reporting software for live KPI dashboards and agency client reports, priced by dashboard count with unlimited users.
Klips pulls numbers out of spreadsheets, business apps and databases and keeps them current on dashboards a whole team can read. It is the original product of Klipfolio Inc., an independent software company founded in Ottawa in 2001. The name comes from the small desktop widgets, called Klips, that the company shipped in its early years. Klipfolio later relaunched the dashboard as a cloud service for teams without a dedicated BI department. Today it sits beside PowerMetrics, the company's metric-first analytics platform. Work in Klips follows three steps the product calls Connect, Build and Share. Connect brings in data through prebuilt connectors for services such as Google Analytics, Salesforce and HubSpot. It also reads SQL databases over SSH tunnelling, FTP and SFTP servers, and almost any API through the REST/URL connector. Build is a drag-and-drop editor with grid and free-form layouts, a wide chart library and Excel-like formulas that combine metrics from different sources. Share covers Published Links with optional passwords, Scheduled Reports that email PDF or image snapshots, full-screen TV displays and a mobile app. The fit is strongest for teams that already live in Excel or Google Sheets and want their reporting to update itself. Agencies are a core audience, with client accounts that keep each client's sources and dashboards apart and let one dashboard be copied across many accounts. The White-Label Bundle and Custom Domain let an agency, consultant or OEM present the app under its own brand and sign-in screen. A business can start without a data warehouse, since Klips connects to sources directly as well as to a warehouse. Stricter IT setups can turn on SAML single sign-on, group-based sharing and role-based access set per data source, Klip or dashboard. A typical agency job is a recurring client report that pulls ad, analytics and CRM figures into one branded dashboard and emails it on schedule. Inside a company, sales, marketing and HR teams start from prebuilt dashboard examples and swap in their own sources. Operations teams put service levels on an office TV, and an alert triggers when a level drops below goal. A SaaS team might join HubSpot deals, Intercom conversations and a Google Sheet of targets to follow churn beside revenue. The spreadsheet stays where it is, and Klips takes over the refreshing, charting and sending that people used to do by hand.
