DaVinci Resolve is Blackmagic Design's editing, color grading, audio and effects application for video, with a no cost edition and a paid Studio version.

DaVinci Resolve is a video editing and color grading application that also carries visual effects, motion graphics and audio post production, so a project can go from raw camera files to a finished master without leaving it. It is made by Blackmagic Design, the independent Australian company that also builds the cameras, switchers and control panels it works with. The software began as a colorist's grading system and kept that heritage as editing, effects and audio were added around it. The application is organised as pages, each a full workspace for one craft. The Cut page is built for fast turnaround work, and the Edit page holds the traditional timeline with the trimming, inspector and multicam tools. Fusion supplies node based compositing with the Delta Keyer, the planar tracker and animation curve editors, while the Color page provides wheels, curves, the scopes palette and Neural Engine tools such as Magic Mask and Depth Map. Fairlight handles recording, editing and mixing of audio on the same timeline, and Deliver renders and uploads the result. DaVinci Resolve suits colorists and finishing artists, editors who would rather stay in one application than move a project between three, and post houses whose editor, colorist and sound engineer need the same project open at once. Solo creators and students use the same software as the facilities they hope to work in, because the tools are the same tools. It is bought as one application in two editions: one anyone can download, and a Studio edition bought outright as a one time purchase. Its place in a production is the end of the shoot and the start of delivery. Footage arrives from Blackmagic RAW and the common camera formats, is cut and graded, then leaves as an Ultra HD or HDR master or as a render uploaded straight to YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok or Dropbox. Hardware speaks to it directly: the DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor and the color panels drive the Cut and Color pages, and ATEM switchers and Blackmagic cameras feed the same projects. Blackmagic Cloud hosts project libraries for teams spread across locations, and third party audio plugins load onto the Fairlight timeline beside the built in ones. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux.
