Broadstreet is an ad server for local and B2B publishers who sell display, newsletter and sponsored content ads to their own clients, priced per month by plan.
Broadstreet runs the ads that small publishers sell to their own clients, from booking a campaign to the report the advertiser reads when it ends. It is aimed at news, magazine and B2B teams that sell their ads directly. Broadstreet Ads, Inc., an independent company created by Kenny Katzgrau, builds it. The app runs in the browser, with a help center and a public REST API beside it. Campaigns are set up on a Flight tab, with start and end dates, weighting between ads and impression pacing toward a goal. Targeting covers geography down to city and zip code, device type, keywords by page or section, and key values through the v2 tags. Newsletter zones place ads in email through RSS Merge or static zone code, so editors stop inserting ads into each issue by hand. The sponsored content tracker records which links in a sponsored post were clicked, when and where. Ad formats can pull content from an advertiser's Facebook, Instagram and YouTube pages, and the Conversion Tracker format measures what happens after the click. Broadstreet suits local news sites, magazines and trade publishers whose own staff sell ads to their own clients. The Manual plan is built for solo publishers, small teams and those new to digital. Automatic is built for publishers and sales teams who move fast, and adds automated reporting and priority support. Both are priced per month, and Native Zones can be added to either plan. The product is built around the salesperson who knows each advertiser, rather than around advertisers booking on their own. Most weeks start with a salesperson trafficking a new campaign and end with automatic reports emailed to each advertiser admin. Those reports can go out weekly, monthly, quarterly or at the end of a campaign. Ad zones drop into sites built on WordPress, Newspack, TownNews or MetroPublisher, and the same campaigns feed newsletters sent through Mailchimp or HubSpot. Third-party tags with click trackers run beside the publisher's own creative, and lazy loading holds each ad until its zone comes into view. When an advertiser asks whether anyone saw the ad, the publisher answers with a client-ready PDF report drawn from web, newsletter and sponsored content data.
