Box is a cloud content management and document collaboration platform for enterprise teams, with native e-signatures and a three user minimum on business plans.

Box is a cloud content management platform where an organization keeps its files in one place and works on them with colleagues, partners and customers. It is made by Box, Inc. of Redwood City, California, a company that sells this single platform rather than a family of separate products. One account covers storage, sharing, document collaboration, electronic signature and the AI features layered over the same content. Teams usually arrive because their documents are scattered across personal drives, email attachments and departmental file servers. Files live in folders that people are invited into, and each file keeps its own version history. Box Notes is the document surface: several people write in one note at the same time, start from a default or custom template, and pull Box files and external links into the page as rich embeds. Box Sign collects legally binding signatures on documents that already sit in Box. Box AI drafts and edits copy inside a note and answers questions about stored content, while Box Extract pulls structured fields out of agreements. The upper plans add Box Agent for multi step work, Box Forms, automated document generation and Box Archive. Box suits organizations whose content carries obligations, such as legal, finance, life sciences and public sector teams whose files are audited. It fits companies large enough to need admin control over what leaves the building, and professional teams whose day is spent in contracts, reports and agreements rather than code. A single person can use it alone on the individual tiers, while the business plans start at a three seat minimum. It is bought per user per month across the Individual, Personal Pro, Business and Enterprise families, each tier carrying its own storage, upload and signature limits. The typical Box workflow is a contract that is uploaded, reviewed by the people who need it, signed and then kept. Teams share a folder with outside collaborators instead of mailing attachments, and administrators keep sight of who holds access to what. The platform connects to the productivity, chat and business applications an organization already runs, through its published integrations and its API, so files open from those tools rather than being downloaded and re-uploaded. Box AI then works over that same stored content, which is why organizations already standardized on Box tend to run their document AI in the same place.
