RudderStack
by RudderStack • • Customer Data Platforms (CDP)
RudderStack is a warehouse-native customer data platform that streams events into your own Snowflake, BigQuery or Databricks warehouse, with reverse ETL.
RudderStack is a warehouse-native customer data platform for teams that want customer data to live in the warehouse they already pay for rather than in a second vendor-owned copy. It collects events from every source, forwards them to the tools a team uses and writes them into the company's own warehouse, then syncs data back out of it. It is made by RudderStack, a venture-backed San Francisco company founded in 2019. Web and mobile event SDKs, a server-side event API and cloud app source connectors collect the events, real-time event streaming forwards them to more than 200 destination connectors, and data warehouse destinations write raw events and profiles into Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks or Redshift. Reverse ETL syncs warehouse tables back into tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot and Zendesk, so the warehouse stays the single source of truth. Tracking plan enforcement keeps the events clean, consent management integration honours what users agreed to, custom transformation functions in JavaScript, Python or Device Mode reshape events in flight, and regional data hosting in the US or the EU meets residency rules. Data subject deletion requests and historical data replay arrive on Growth and above. Identity resolution across devices and sources, unified customer profiles, computed traits, a no-code audience builder in private beta and a real-time profile lookup API for personalization make up the Profiles and Data Apps layer on Enterprise. An open-source edition of the event pipeline can be self-hosted, and a published migration path moves an existing Segment implementation across. RudderStack suits startups and small teams on the Free tier, data teams already paying for a cloud warehouse, teams migrating off Segment, growth-stage companies that need reverse ETL and tracking plan governance, and large organisations that need single sign-on, HIPAA support or a dedicated identity graph. It is sold on a Free tier capped by monthly events, a Growth tier priced by monthly event volume on monthly or annual billing, and an Enterprise agreement above the self-serve ceiling, with every capability bundled into one of the three tiers and no separate add-ons. The plan cards list every tier. In daily use RudderStack streams first-party event data into a company-owned warehouse, migrates an existing Segment implementation, syncs warehouse tables back into Salesforce, HubSpot or Zendesk, enforces tracking plans and consent rules across sources and destinations and, on Enterprise, builds unified profiles and warehouse audiences for personalization. It sits beside the warehouse and the analytics and marketing tools that read from it rather than replacing them.
